Computer Network Cabling
Many households in Australia are about to conect to the NBN and along with it the many Services that require a stable, fast Internett connection. Most will have a sinlge PC in possibly an office or bedroom, fed from a router connected to a nearby modem. Unfortunately however there are more devices in the home that require a stable connection, but because of a lack of provision rely on Wifi which not only requires security measures and some technical ability to configure but will only be reliable with any stabilty in areas close to an access point.
To take full advantage of what the NBN promises to offer a properly switched home network is required. If you are considering upgrading from what I have described we advise 2 cables to every point located in bedrooms and dinning room's and 3 or possibly 4 cables to a point servicing the Television/Entertainment area with Optionaly provision for an IP or Voip telephone in a hallway. Home networks require some strategic planning, and for-thought in terms of the placement of equipment and cabling, but ultimately the rewards of having reliable connections to all IP based equipment are multi faceted.
